Placostylus hongii is a species of very large, air-breathing land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Placostylidae.

Distribution

Placostylus hongii is classified by the New Zealand Department of Conservation as Range Restricted.^[3]

Buckley et al. (2011)^[4] found based on molecular phylogeny research and shell morphology research, that there are no susbspecies of Placostylus hongii.^[4]
